Is another way of life possible?

In recent years, our interest in the body and movement has increasingly focused on the relationship between the body and the changing context of our society. We have been reflecting on and intrigued by certain concepts related to occupations that engage the person primarily on a physical level.

This led us to reconnect with a world that feels familiar to us—the rural world. From some recent hands-on experiences working the land, the idea for this project emerged.

From our perspective, both the art of dance and agriculture are currently undergoing profound transformations.

The aim of this research is to create a synergy between working the land and the practice of dance movement, where one enriches, motivates, and adds value to the other.

We believe that at this moment, our physical, mental, and spiritual bodies are under siege. Electronic stimuli, noise, and the excessive use of technology are causing us distress, confusing our senses and disrupting our perception.

The illusion of convenience promised by machines hides another side: it is making our experiences increasingly rational and less engaging on a sensory, emotional, and psychological level—at the risk of fragmentation.

Hence, the idea…

The value and deep awareness that dance brings to the body could be offered in service to farmers, while the care and dedication that farmers bring to working the land could serve as training for dancers… an exchange of study and value… a reappraisal of the meaning of hard work in achieving results… reimmersing the body in its natural habitat, pulling it out from the deafening noise of cities.

Even dance needs fresh air.

Revaluing agriculture through the art of dance.

Giving body to dance through a training rooted in concreteness.

A creative approach for both.
